Our badges were confiscated for being too political in Parliament!

Three activists holding protest materials outside Parliament, advocating for disability rights.

On 7th May 2025, DPAC Activists Paula, Sophia and Andy (pictured here went to Parliament to support disability rights activists giving evidence at the DWP Select Committee and then show solidarity to Diane Abbott MP who held the Westminster Hall debate on PIP

There were no problems at security at Portcullis House. But it was a very hostile and horrible experience at Parliament.

Activists had bags searched contents tipped out. Leaflets, badges and a copy of John Pring Book The Department confiscated for being too political

It was a distressing experience. Note books searched. Medication checked and asked what it was for.

We only got these items back when we were escorted from the Parliament estate

Complaints have been lodged.

Warning: H.M.Government can damage your health

Rainbow Badges has re-made this vintage badge

The original vintage badge (origin unknown)

We love the subtle subvertising of a government warning on this fabulous vintage pin badge.
It arrived at our workshop a few weeks ago, amongst an interesting collection of vintage pins from the USA.
It appears that the simple yet effective design was inspired by a government health warning added to cigarette packaging.

The cool badge is on its way to a new owner, and we decided to remake it as we will miss seeing it in our collection!
